KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has assured that the state government will ensure the National Digital Network Plan (Jendela) is implemented smoothly in Sabah.
“My instruction is clear. All local authorities and district offices must facilitate so that the projects under Jendela in the state are implemented smoothly,” he said when meeting with Communications and Digital Minister Ahmad Fahmi Mohamed Fadzil at his office in Menara Kinabalu near here today.
Among the issues discussed was expediting the Jendela programme to achieve the 100 per cent internet connectivity target by the end of 2025.
Also discussed was the proposed reinstatement of 300 Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) satellite connectivity in rural areas in Sabah, increasing the number of Digital Economic Centre of PEDI from 118 to 200 and expediting the completion of current tower and PoP (point of presence at schools) constructions and installation.
Accompanying Ahmad Fahmi were Communications and Digital Ministry Secretary- General Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa, Director General of Broadcasting Datuk Suhaimi Sulaiman, Information Department Director General Datuk Mohd Sukari Ab Hamid and Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Chairman, Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din.
